Today the President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizade is 85. A prominent scientist, public figure A.Alizade was awarded the title of "Honored Scientist" for his rich contribution to geological science in Azerbaijan and he was awarded the State Prize laureate, "Glory", "Honor" and "Independence" orders.

Since his election as President of ANAS in 2013, he has played an important role in identifying the development directions of science in Azerbaijan and establishing the scientific and technical development strategy of the country, the preparation of highly qualified cadres, strengthening the science and education relations.

Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, academician Irada Huseynova and the employees of the institute congratulate academician Akif Alizade on occasion of his jubilee and wish him long life, good health, and success in the development of Azerbaijani science.
