A competition on “Effective application in the biological and agrarian fields” dedicated to the Science Day was held at the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS on April 10. Opening the competition director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, correspondent member of ANAS, doctor of sciences in agrarian sciences, professor Alovsat Guliyev welcomed all the participants and he emphasized that the competition would be fully objective. He spoke about the efficient use of land pointing out the relevance of this topic. A. Guliyev noted that it is possible to harvest crops in every season because of Azerbaijan's rich climate. Then he pointed out the importance of checking the land so that the salinity of the soil could not be increased and ended his speech.

Young scientists and Ph.D. students of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies gave reports and extensively answered the questions of the jury at the event. Leading researchers, PhD Ulduza Gurbanova and Ph.D. Ulkar Ibrahimova, researchers Turana Iskandarova, Lale Aydinli and 1st-year master student Leyla Khalilova gave reports. Their presentations and full responses were positively assessed by the director of the institute and the jury. At the end of the competition Ulduza Gurbanova ranked first, Turana Iskandarova ranked second and Lale Aydinli ranked third. The winners were awarded diplomas. Certificates were presented to all participants of the event.
