President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh gave an interview to journalists at the Presidium of ANAS about the meeting of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician Alexander Sergeyev. Commenting on the meeting as a significant event, the scientist talked about the contract signed with the organization headed by the RAS and the perspectives of cooperation. He noted that the agreement on scientific and technical cooperation, signed today, aims to expand and strengthen ties with the RAS in technical and humanitarian spheres.

Academician A.Alizadeh stressed that the agreement signed between ANAS and the RAS opened new and successful priority directions for Azerbaijani science. He noted that the first direction is the study of problems in the Caspian Sea. He noted that studying biological diversity, geology, geodynamics, sedimentation of the Caspian Sea, as well as complex multidisciplinary studies with Russian scientists on archaeological searches in the Caspian Sea.

According to the president of ANAS, within the framework of the agreement, it is also planned to carry out joint research on the history of the Caucasus, human settlements, migration and other areas.
