Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, USSR State Prize Laureate, Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Polish Academy of Medical Sciences, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academic Secretary of the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Laureate of the Academician N.N. Petrov Prize of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, Gold Medalist named of N.N. Blokhin of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Laureate of the Albert Schweizer Award at the Polish Academy of Medical Sciences, Member of many prestigious scientific associations and societies around the world and Honorary Doctor of Higher Education, Order of “Honor” and “Glory”, Academician Ahliman Tapdig Amiraslanov was born on November 17, 1947.

The multidisciplinary research work carried out by Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov on different areas of oncology and his successful results have earned him worldwide fame.

As a result of research work on the development and implementation of complex treatment methods for bone tumors, the results of treatment of these diseases have improved 4-5 times. The results of research in this area have been published in international, All-Union and Republican journals, congresses, symposiums and conferences, and have repeatedly been reported on the results of the United States, France, Japan, Italy, Sweden, Turkey, Germany, Russia, Israel, Pakistan, Canada, Austria, Greece, etc. made presentations at various scientific forums and authoritative meetings held in different countries. According to the results of scientific research on “Development and implementation of methods of rehabilitation treatment in oncology patients” the USSR State Prize for Science and Technology, as well as “Modern Cancer Science” of the USSR Academy of Sciences N.N.Petrov Award, which has trained dozens of highly qualified personnel in the field.

Graduates of the academic Ahliman Amiraslanov’s scientific and pedagogical school continue to follow his path not only in prestigious clinics in Azerbaijan, but also in many countries. He is the author of over 500 scientific works, including 13 monographs, 9 inventions and effective proposals, 26 textbooks, teaching aids and methodical literature. Under his leadership 56 dissertations were defended, including 12 doctoral and 44 doctoral theses in philosophy. During his career, he has performed more than 20,000 surgeries.

A.T. Amiraslanov headed the Azerbaijan Medical University in 1992-2015 for about 24 years and has rendered a great contribution to the training of medical personnel in the country, the development of medical education and medical science. During his rectorate, the Medical University has made great progress, expanded the material and technical base of the University and its international links, and established four clinics and operates successfully.

An important part of A.Amiraslanov’s research and scientific-organizational activity is associated with the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). As a true member of ANAS since 2001, member of the Presidium of ANAS since 2007, academic secretary of the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences, he plays a leading role in defining the major areas of biology and medical science in the country, organizing and modernizing research. supervises and provides all-round support to modern methods, intensive development of international relations, creation of new scientific institutions, continuous improvement of the material and technical bases of relevant fields.

Amiraslanov’s activity as a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the IV (2010) and V convocation (2015) was broad and multifaceted and served the interests of both the voters who voted for him and the people of Azerbaijan in general. The election of the Speaker of the Parliament to the Health Committee in 2015 was a reflection of his assessment of his scientific, organizational and socio-political activities. Thanks to the high organizational abilities of Ahliman Amiraslanov, the Health Committee was formed in a short time, its structures were established, and serious legislative activities were launched there.
