On December 24, a doctoral student of the Bioinformatics laboratory Fidan Yusifova’s seminar on "Human long non-coding RNA sequences” was held. F. Yusifova provided information on the discovery, localization, characteristics, tissue specificity, the biological role of non-coding RNA sequences. The reporter also spoke about the databases for non-coding RNA sequences.

At the seminar, a wide discussion was held about the connection between cancer and non-coding RNA sequences, application of non-coding RNA sequences as biomarkers in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer, its role in the occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s), and in the treatment of stroke.
