Azerbaijani professor preparing coronavirus vaccine abroad: "It is unknown what problems a recovering person will face" Apr 07, 2020 | 13:27 / Important events

We all have different questions about the coronavirus pandemic. Given that this disease is spread by a virus, a more complete answer to the obscure aspects of the pandemic can be given by someone who is familiar with the characteristics of the virus. This time, Modern.az's questions on coronavirus were answered by Tarlan Mammadov, professor of the Mediterranean University of Turkey, corresponding member of ANAS, head of 5 major projects by TUBITAK for the synthesis of recombinant vaccines and therapeutic proteins and the International Grant Agency.

Tarlan Mammadov said that current situation in Turkey is better than other countries. Once the maximum is reached, the situation will stabilize and the number of patients will begin to decline. He said sick people, especially those with lung disease, should wear masks. Genes don’t play special role in spreading of the virus. The main issue is how the countries fight with coronavirus. Everyone should follow the quarantine regime to prevent the spread of the disease. He said that the virus is likely to cause problems in the kidneys and lungs later. It is not yet clear what problems the recovering patient will experience.
