On July 27, the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to our country Zachary Gross. During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of scientific ties between the two countries.

Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev spoke about the historical stages of Azerbaijani-French relations, cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and scientific spheres, as well as research works that were carried out in ANAS within the framework of the quarantine regime introduced in the republic during the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking about the integration of domestic science into the world, the head of ANAS said that international experience in this area is used in the training of personnel at the academy. The academician noted that the country has a high potential for expanding cooperation with scientific centers and higher educational institutions in France.

Ambassador Zachary Gross thanked the leadership of ANAS for the cordial welcome and services in further strengthening bilateral ties. He stressed that the joint activities of Azerbaijan and France as reliable partners, aimed at developing a number of areas of science, will continue successfully in the future.

The meeting was also attended by the first vice-presidents of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli and academician Ibrahim Guliyev, director of the French Institute in Azerbaijan, counselor of the French embassy on cooperation and culture Jerome Kel and head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva.
