Ministry of Agriculture discussed the projects submitted by the institutes of ANAS + Photo

An online seminar was held on October 6, 2020 with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, scientists and specialists of research institutes to discuss projects submitted and planned to be implemented by relevant institutes of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov congratulated the seminar participants on the achievements of our victorious army in the Karabakh war to restore the country's territorial integrity. The Minister spoke about the important tasks facing the agricultural sector in such a responsible period, the important issues arising from the "Agreement of Intent" signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and ANAS to strengthen scientific and technical cooperation, the role of science in solving problems in the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan.
Vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova thanked Inam Karimov for the initiative to hold this seminar. She stressed the importance of food security as much as the success of the war, and said that scientists are ready to make a real contribution to this area.
Then the seminar was moderated by the Director of the Agrarian Science and Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ph.D. Imran Jumshudov. Leading researcher of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Ph.D. in Biology, Associate Professor Samira Rustamova presented the joint project "Selection and use of wheat in drought-resistant and high-yielding embryonic plasma based on the application of digital and genomic technologies in selection programs" (supervisor: ANAS Vice President, Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, academician Irada Huseynova), Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev - "Specification of soil salinization, and erosion rates and nutrient requirements" (supervisor: Alovsat Guliyev) etc.
