A researcher of the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS, Turana Isgandarova, junior researchers Saida Zulfugarova, Sabina Omarova, and a doctoral student Natella Aliyeva visited the Gobustan Regional Experimental Station of the Research Institute of Crop Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The main purpose of the trip was to conduct molecular, biochemical studies on bread wheat genotypes grown under different conditions, and to collect samples to test the embryonic plasma of wheat included in the competitive variety test for the gene Sr39 of Aegilops speltoides origin. During the trip, F5 lines stabilized on the basis of local hybridization, planted in different control nurseries, and samples of wheat varieties of different ecological origins obtained from international organizations were monitored. Besides, a phytopathological assessment of the fungus Puccinia graminis Pers. f. sp. triticale was performed in the wheat fields of the Gobustan region.
