In order to detect phytoplasma diseases and insect vectors spreading them, on April 13-16, 2022, phytopathological monitoring was carried out in individual farms, backyards, private farms, and orchards located in the Guba and Khachmaz districts of Azerbaijan. During the monitoring, dryness was found in peach trees in orchards in Khachmaz, and in cherry trees in Guba. Initial visual diagnostics and phytopathological assessment of the observed areas were carried out. Dried vines were found on and around the plants, which are reservoir plants for insects. It can be assumed that the drying of peach and cherry trees was caused by phytoplasma diseases. Dried branch samples were brought to the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS for analysis, and farmers were advised to uproot and burn the dead trees to prevent the spread of the disease.
