The prominent Azerbaijani scientist in the field of Biology, head of the laboratory of the Institute of Plant Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, senior research fellow of the Institute of Fundamental Problems of Biology, professor of the Moscow State University, head of Biotechnology international laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, doctor of biological sciences Suleyman Allahverdiyev was elected a correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the specialty "Physical and Chemical Biology" for his great contribution to the development of science and training of scientific personnel and many years of fruitful activity.

It should be noted that the well-known scientist was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation by the order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated March 21, 2022. He was previously one of the winners of the Global Energy Association's most prestigious international Global Energy Award for 2021.

Correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Suleyman Allahverdiyev tops the list of Russia's top-ranked scientists in terms of the number of references to his works in recent years.
