Azerbaijani scientist working in Singapore got acquainted with the scientific activities of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies + Photo Sep 16, 2022 | 19:00 / Meetings

A researcher at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore, Dr. Nailya Omar Khayyam Aliyeva visited the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Azerbaijan and got acquainted with the laboratories of the Institute and the research conducted there. The Director General of the Institute, Vice-President of ANAS Academician Irada Huseynova spoke about the history of the establishment of the Institute, the main activities, ongoing scientific research, and important results obtained. I. Huseynova especially noted that academician Jalal Aliyev played an important role in the material-technical organization of the institute, determining the research directions and recruiting personnel. The director emphasized that at present the majority of the Institute's staff is young people, and the management is taking systematic steps to prepare undergraduates and doctoral students, and attract them to study and work in scientific centers in France, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Turkey and other leading countries of the world. Irada Huseynova assured that cooperation with Azerbaijani scientists working in well-known foreign scientific centers, including with Nailya khanym Aliyeva, makes it possible to achieve significant success on the path of integrating Azerbaijani science into the world. Highly appreciating the level of research work carried out at the institute, Nailya Aliyeva expressed her gratitude to the director of the institute for the invitation. She noted that, like all representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, she is deeply interested in important events taking place in her homeland, the development of science, the level of education, and especially supporting activities to attract young people, and mostly girls, to education and science. It should be noted that Nailya Aliyeva graduated from Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, in 1999 she received the degree of candidate of biological sciences at the Oncological Research Center named after N.N. Blokhin. She continued her scientific research at Moscow State University, Florida and Texas Universities in the USA. Currently, Naila Omar Khayyam Aliyeva is conducting research in the direction of studying the processes of regeneration and functional recovery at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research of Singapore.
