On October 26, 2022, a practice course on "Human genetic identification and passportization problems" was started for students at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of RA MSE. Academician Irada Huseynova, the general director of the institute, opened the event, welcomed the participants, and talked about the scientific and applied importance of research conducted in this field. The scientist noted that the organization of such courses will be of great importance in attracting young people to science and expanding science-education relations. In the three-day practice course, the students will be given both theoretical information and participation in experiments. On the first day of the course, the director of the Institute's Population Genomics Laboratory, Ph.D., Assoc. Nurmammad Mustafayev gave a lecture on "Personality identification: the history of creation, importance and application aspects", while Zarintaj Rustamova, a junior researcher of the laboratory, gave a lecture on "The role of ancient DNA in the study of human evolution". In the practical part, students were first introduced to the safety rules in the laboratory and the working principle of the devices, and they were also shown the extraction of genomic DNA. The course will continue in the following days.
