Naima Niyazova, a junior researcher at the Bioadaptation Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of RA MSE, was on a business trip at the Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection of the National Research Council of Italy, located in Florence, Italy, from 07.11.2022 to 03.12.2022. The young researcher conducted dissertation research on "Research of biochemical markers in tomato cultivars subjected to abiotic and biotic stress and microorganism extracts were applied as biostimulators of resistance". Local and foreign tomato cultivars subjected to drought stress and fungal infection (Botrytis cinerea) were used to study the biostimulant effect of the extract obtained from Nostoc piscinale cyanobacteria. For this purpose, analyzes were carried out at the molecular and biochemical level. It should be noted that both the effect of the microorganism extract on the resistance of tomato varieties to biotic stress and drought stress, as well as the evaluation of the resistance of tomato varieties to fungal infection, being a new direction for Azerbaijan, were carried out for the first time.
