A regular plenary meeting of the Steering Committee for Human Rights in the Fields of Biomedicine and Health (CDBIO) of the Council of Europe was held in Strasbourg, France on June 06-09, 2023. At this meeting, Azerbaijan was represented by the Deputy Chairman of UNESCO's Azerbaijani National Committee on Bioethics, Scientific and Technology Ethics, Head of the Proteomics International Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, PhD Ismayil Zulfugarov.

CDBIO finalized the mid-term report of the Strategic Action Plan on Human Rights and Technologies in Biomedicine (2020-2025) and agreed to submit it to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, followed by a Pilot Youth Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Health. CDBIO has made relevant decisions considering issues such as equity in access to innovative treatments and technologies in healthcare, artificial intelligence and biomedicine, genomics and public dialogue. The 3rd meeting of the Steering Committee for Human Rights in the Fields of Biomedicine and Health prepared a special QUESTIONNAIRE on the instructions of the Committee of Ministers and for the member countries.
