Ph.D. Ismayil Zulfugarov, head of the International Laboratory of Proteomics Ph.D., researcher of the Laboratory of Cell Membrane Systems, Nahida Aliyeva, and junior researcher of the International Laboratory of Bionanotechnology Mehriban Shabanova were on a scientific trip to Istanbul, Turkey, on July 03-09, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to participate in the International Conference "Photosynthesis and Hydrogen Energy Research for Sustainable Development - 2023" held at Bahçeşehir University in honor of Robert Blankenship (USA), Gyözö Garab (Hungary), Michael Graetzel (Switzerland), Norman Huner (Canada) and Gunnar Oquist (Sweden). The conference was dedicated to modern and actual problems of photosynthesis and hydrogen energy research. Ismail Zulfugarov represented co-author of the article "Interaction between phosphorylation of thylakoid proteins in plants and energy-dependent quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence", Aynura Pashayeva, Dr. Guangxi Wu, Dr. Prof. He Choon-Hwan Lee, and academician Irada Huseynova with an oral speech. At the beginning of his speech, the scientist gave information about the history of the establishment of IMBB, the research and successes of the deceased academician Jalal Aliyev in the field of photosynthesis, and conveyed the congratulations of academician Irada Huseynova to the conference participants. Ismayil Zulfugarov's speech was met with interest and led to discussions. Nahida Aliyeva and Mehriban Shabanova made a poster presentation. During poster presentations, interesting discussions were held with scientists working in this direction. Speeches of many outstanding scientists were listened to at the conference.

In the end, the organizing committee decided to hold the 12th International Conference "Photosynthesis and Hydrogen Energy Research for Sustainable Development" again in the Republic of Turkey.
