Employees of the Institute of Genetics and Experimental Biology of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences - senior researcher, prof. Fakhreddin Kushanov and senior researcher, Ph.D. Ozod Turayev,  visited the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies on July 28. First, the guests got acquainted with the laboratories of the institute and the research conducted. Then a scientific seminar was held. Director General of the Institute, Vice President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of holding such events for future cooperation. Prof. Fakhreddin Kushanov informed the participants of the seminar about the main directions of his research. He noted that currently extensive research is being conducted in the laboratory led by him in the direction of creating and applying new cotton varieties using modern genetic and biotechnological methods. 7,500 specimens of cotton cultivars have been included in the collection of the cotton gene fund. In the end, the Uzbek scientist answered questions asked by IMBB employees.
