At the meeting, the memory of a famous scientist in the field of agricultural science, former director of the Lankaran Regional Scientific Center (LRSC) of ANAS, Professor Farman Guliyev, who died recently, was honored.

Chairman of the Scientific and Problem Council, Vice-President of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova spoke about the scientific activities of Professor Farman Guliyev and said that his memory will not be forgotten. She reported that Doctor of Philology Mehman Aliyev had been appointed as the new director of the LRSC.

Then academician Irada Huseynova informed the meeting participants that the General Assembly of ANAS will be held on November 29, 2023. The speaker once again drew attention to the importance of the Decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated November 3, 2023 “On approval of the Charter of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan”.

Then at the meeting there was a discussion of the topics of dissertations of those who were accepted into the doctoral programs of scientific institutions (Institute of Physiology named after Academician Abdulla Garayev MSE of the RA, Institute of Genetic Resources MSE of the RA, Institute of Microbiology MSE of the RA, Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry MSE of the RA) in 2023. The discussions were attended by members of the Scientific Council of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, the Problem Council of the RCCSR on Biological, Agricultural and Medical Sciences, as well as corresponding members of ANAS Zeynal Akparov, Panah Muradov, Novruz Guliyev, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Mustafa Mustafayev, Doctors of Biological Sciences Aydin Askerov, Shakir Gasimov, Dilzara Aghayeva and others. Incoming doctoral and dissertant students and their supervisors answered questions on the topics. A total of 15 dissertation topics were reviewed, including 12 topics related to admission to doctoral studies for the preparation of a doctor of philosophy, and 3 topics related to admission to a dissertant for the preparation of a doctor of philosophy, and all of them were approved with some changes in the titles of the topics.
