On March 29, the next scientific seminar was held at the IMBB . Kave Babai, a researcher at the International Laboratory of Computational Structural Biology, reported on the research he conducted during his secondment at the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Medical Research Council (MRC) in Cambridge, UK. Kave Babai conducted his research under the guidance of Professor Garib Murshudov, head of the Computational Structural Biology Group of the MRC Institute of Molecular Biology and the International Laboratory of Computational Structural Biology of the IMBB. Following that, Kave Babai presented his presentation on "Statistical analysis of metal coordination classes based on small molecules and application of the results to protein structures". The speaker mentioned several modern statistical methods and programs for studying and verifying the structures of protein structures and their complexes with ligands. He emphasized that there are still no accurate methods of analysis of the surroundings of metals in proteins. Analysis of the protein database shows that the accuracy of such proteins, and mainly of metal surroundings, is quite diverse. The obtained models are currently applied to improve the quality of protein structures. Kave Babai's speech was met with great interest by the seminar participants. He answered the questions.
