In the event jointly organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes, the impact of climate change on transboundary water resources and the use of these resources issues of cooperation in the field of sustainable management were discussed. In the discussions with the participation of officials and experts in the field, the importance of water management based on new and modern technologies, climate resilience of transboundary water basins on a global and regional scale was noted.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov informed about the measures implemented in the field of efficient use of water resources, and drew attention to the importance of combining all efforts of the UN and other international and regional organizations, the private sector, and civil society in implementing the water-related goals and objectives of the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
