On 4-5 April, an international conference “Weather, land, and water” was held at Khazar University. The conference was held jointly co-organized by Khazar University, Istanbul Aydin University, Istanbul Technical University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Eurasian Union of Universities. Opening the conference rector of the Khazar University, PhD Irada  Khalilova informed the participants about the conference. Then co-chair Rovshen Abbasov greeted the participants and noted the number of people killed in air pollution over the past 30 years according to the United Nations. Climate change has led to serious consequences in recent years. He also added that water pollution with heavy metals, air pollution of smoke from plants, etc. environmental problems had led to early deaths.

 Then professor Hamlet Isfahanli, the founder of the university, said that Hasan Bey Zardabi, the first newspaper publisher, investigated fundamental issues in his article titled "Land, Weather and Water" in the "Hayat" newspaper and that it was still actual.

The conference was attended by a large delegation of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies.  The leading researcher of the laboratory of enzymology of photosynthetic carbon assimilation, Ph.D. Ulduza Gurbanova, the leading researcher of Bioadaptation laboratory, Ph.D. Nargiz Sultanova, and other researchers-Lala Aydinli, Turana Isgandarova, junior researchers- Gulnar Abdullayeva, Saida Zulfugarova gave detailed information on their researches. Speeches of the young researchers were met with interest by the participants and extensive discussions were held on topics. At the end of the conference, certificates were presented to the participants.
