The participants of the event first honored the memory of outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva with a minute of silence. Opening the event Chairman of NAP Sabail District Office, deputy Shamsaddin Hajiyev spoke about the life of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva: “Every year, our grateful people honor the memory of a brilliant scientist who completed her life journey on one of the spring days of 1985. Zarifa Aliyeva was a devoted friend of life and a loyal friend of our national leader Heydar Aliyev. Her positive life experience and good traditions obtained in the family of Aziz Aliyev were useful to her when she became the spouse of the first person of the state. She became the moral support and loyal assistant of our leader. Academician Z. Aliyeva, whose life of an innovative scientist, a pure and noble person, is a school of spirituality and morality for every citizen of Azerbaijan, has become an example of wisdom and maturity for each of our scientists and doctors. ”

Member of NAP Women’s Council, doctor Zarifa Guliyeva spoke about the life and professional activities of eminent scientist Zarifa Aliyeva.

Professor, poet Pasha Galbinur, deputy Hadi Rajabli, and others said that Zarifa Aliyeva had always dreamed of giving light to the blind eyes and giving life to the eyes of those who longed for the beauties, and her bright memory will always live in the heart of the Azerbaijani people.

The event was attended by the members of Sunbul branch of the NAP of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies Ulduza Gurbanova, Natig Mammedov, Sevinj Musayeva, Aynura Mirzayeva, Darya Gasimova. The Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, Ph.D. Ulduza Gurbanova spoke about the achievements of academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the development of the science of ophthalmology in Azerbaijan. She noted that the bright image of academician Zarifa Aliyeva will always be in the hearts of people, and her personality and ideas will be an example for the youth of Azerbaijan.
