Gulnar Abdullayeva began her doctoral education at Oxford University Sep 03, 2019 | 14:02 / Important events

Gulnar Abdullayeva, a junior researcher and former undergraduate student at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, began her doctoral education in Oncology at Oxford University, one of the world's leading universities.

After graduating from secondary school with excellent marks in 2012, G.Abdullayeva entered the Biology faculty of Baku State University and completed a bachelor’s degree with an honors diploma. During her study at the university, she was awarded the "Best Student of the Year" in 2013, 2014 and 2015 for her high education performance and social activism. In 2016, she entered the master’s degree in "Molecular Biology" of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS and completed her education with honors diploma getting high marks from all the subjects in 2018. She was awarded the Honorary Order of ANAS for differing in scientific activities. In March of this year, she ranked the first place at the “Winter School of Young Biologists” jointly organized by the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS and the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS. She successfully participated in several local and international conferences and was awarded certificates and diplomas. She was awarded certificates presenting poster at the 18th Winter School on Molecular Biology and Biophysics organized by B.P.Konstantinov St. Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute and the Kurchatovsky Scientific Research Institute in St. Petersburg and giving interesting report at the 7th National Congress on Molecular Biology and Biotechnology held in Nevshehir, Turkey, on 2-5 July, 2018. G. Abdullayeva won the PhD scholarship program of the Islamic Development Bank for the 2018-2019 academic year and was invited to study for a four-year doctoral degree in Oncology at Oxford University, one of the leading universities in the world.
