On February 15, a scientific seminar on "Transfer of DNA from Plastid and Mitochondrion to nucleus in plants" was held. The researcher of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics Amina Abdulazimova gave detailed information on the organization of genetic systems of higher plants. She described the important role of the transfer of DNA copies from organelles to the nuclear genome in eukaryotic cells during the evolution of the plant genome. She noted that although the mentioned process took place in the early stages of evolution, it continues in flowering plants today.
