On April 6, 2018, a regular scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies. At the seminar, PhD in Biology, Docent  Sadagat Asadova made a presentation on "CRISPR / Cas9 - Genome Editor". The reporter provided detailed information on the structure and mechanism of the CRISPR / Cas9 system, a modern tool for genetic engineering. The CRISPR / Cas system was shown to be an immune system for bacteria and archaea. Asadova gave information about ways of editorial works on genomes of primitive and higher organisms of CRISPR / Cas9 system. During the seminar questions were given and discussions were held.
