Chinese scientists have completed clinical trials of the antiviral drug “Favilavir”, which fights against fever in patients with coronavirus.

"China has completed a clinical trial of Favilavir, an antiviral drug from COVID-19. The drug reduces the heat-up period in patients with COVID-19 from 4.2 days to 2.5 days without side effects," the newspaper tweeted, citing an unnamed official from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.

"Favilavir," media say, is produced by the Chinese company Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical. The drug is also called "Favipiravir" (Favipiravir) or "Avigan" (Avigan), in Japan under these names it is produced by Fujifilm Holdings to fight the flu. Japanese media previously reported that the country's Ministry of Health is considering treating patients with coronavirus exactly Avigan.
