Russia presented a drug for the treatment of COVID-19

The drug for the treatment of a new coronavirus was presented by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA).
“The Pharmaceutical Protection Research and Production Center of the FMBA of Russia, taking into account Chinese and French experience, has developed a treatment plan for coronavirus infection based on the antimalarial drug Meflohin,” the agency’s website said in a statement.
Veronika Skvortsova, Head of the FMBA of Russia, noted that the method is designed to provide effective treatment for patients with COVID-19 of varying severity. Now the agency’s specialists are developing a mephloquine-based coronavirus prevention regimen. New developments are supposed to be included in the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
