The article in title “Biochemical characteristics and ultrastructure of mesophilic and covered thylakoids of corn (Zea mays L.) chloroplasts” that shows the results of research of the research fellows of the laboratory of “Cell membrane systems” of IMBB was published in the Functional Plant Biology journal. The research work is devoted to a comparative study of the photosynthetic apparatus and ultrastructure of two different types of cells of the corn plant related to the C4 metabolism of photosynthesis. Electron microscope JEM-1400 TEM (made in Japan) that has a high performance at the Research Center of the Azerbaijan Medical University was also used during the research. Functional Plant Biology is the official journal of the Australian Society of Plant Scientists and has an impact factor of 2,327.

It should be noted that work in this direction is being successfully continued.
