On May 20, Ismayil Zulfugarov, PhD in Biology, Professor at the Busan National University (Republic of Korea), head of the Proteomics International Laboratory of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS, has conducted an online master class for students of Baku State University: “The three components of COVID- 19: immunity, inflammation and interference.”

Having connected to the video lesson, the rector of the university Elchin Babayev spoke about the preventive measures taken at the institution of higher education to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), as well as about effective and targeted measures taken in the republic to combat the pandemic. The rector emphasized that our republic excelled in its exemplary activities in this area.

Then Ismayil Zulfugarov delivered a lecture on coronaviruses and their evolution, methods for diagnosing and treating COVID-19 infection, pandemics and bioethical problems, the prospects for the development of microbiology, virology and molecular biotechnology, the emergence of new coronaviruses.

A lesson on the Microsoft Teams platform was attended by about 100 people.

The master class, which continued in the form of a discussion, ended with the voicing of responses to questions.
