Academician-secretary of ANAS: “The work carried out in Lankaran RSC on introduction of new tea and citrus fruit varieties into production is commendable”

On August 28, academician-secretary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, corresponding member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov visited the Lankaran Regional Scientific Center (RSC) of the academy. The academician-secretary got acquainted with the scientific, scientific-organizational and economic work carried out here.
Director of Lankaran RSC, Professor Farman Guliyev gave detailed information about the directions of scientific research carried out in the organization headed by him in recent years, the measures taken to apply the obtained scientific results to production. He noted that in recent years, the center has created and zoned 4 new tea varieties, 1 lemon and 1 tangerine variety were submitted to the Agrarian Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan for testing. He also added that research is underway to zoning a new fruit for our country - tropical-subtropical guayaquil.
