On October 24, a joint meeting of the Presidium of ANAS and the Scientific Council of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. Academician Akif Alizadeh, President of ANAS, made opening remarks on the agenda at the Academy of Public Administration.

At the meeting, discussions were held on the approval of the Regulations of the coordination council of ANAS professors. Academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliev said that the scientific name of "Professor of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences" was founded by the Decree of the Presidium of January 18, 2017. The Co-ordination Council of ANAS professors was established by the relevant decision of the Presidium of ANAS to ensure that the professors of ANAS take an active part in the scientific and scientific-organizational life of the academy, to ensure their active participation in the implementation of tasks defined by the Charter of ANAS, as well as in the training and development of innovative activity.  According to the decision, the draft Statute of the Coordination Council of ANAS professors was submitted to the Presidium.

The Presidium has approved the Council's Charter and its composition, taking into consideration all mentioned.

At the event were discussed the international scientific conference "Physics and Lyrics". Academician Isa Habibbeyli, Vice-President of ANAS, said that the Academy has traditionally convened "Physics and Lyrics" to develop links between different fields of science. Until now four conferences have been widely reflected in the republic and welcomed by representatives of humanitarian and applied sciences. The next event will be held in Baku and Shamakhi on November 14-18, 2018 and in Dubna, Russia, on November 21-24, 2018 with organizational and financial support of the International Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Member States of ANAS and CIS. The Presidium has made a relevant decision on holding the next international scientific conference "Physics and Lyrics".

The new composition of the Scientific-Publishing Council of ANAS was approved by other decisions of the Presidium. Partial changes have been made in the Bureau of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS. Also, decisions were made to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of ANAS, to establish the Department of Children's Literature at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature, the Experimental Phonetic Research Laboratory at the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics and the Education Department at the Institute of Architecture and Art.
