Representatives of "Clarivate Analytics" agency (Thomson Reuters) in our country have met with academician-secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, correspondent member of ANAS Aminagha Sadigov.

The meeting focused on cooperation between ANAS and “Clarivate Analytics”.

Oleg Utkin, Executive Director for Russia and CIS, compared the indicators of the scientific centers of ANAS and other regional countries on the database. He emphasized that for the first time in the history of Azerbaijan, the number of scientific publications on the basis of the base data takes the first place among the South Caucasian countries. Unlike other scientific fields, the organization official said that scientists in the humanitarian field were less represented in scientific bases. He voiced the agency's proposals to attract scholars from this area to take advantage of the base's capabilities. In this connection, discussions were held on the placement of scientific results of scientists in the field of social and humanitarian sciences.

Then, Valentin Bogorov, Director of Educational Programs at “Clarivate Analytics”, presented scientific-analytical information on the current state of the ANAS in the scientific bases of the organization and underlined the necessity of establishing the activity based on new criteria.

Aygun Babazadeh, an expert on science-information resources, representative of “Clarivate Analytics” in Azerbaijan, said in the past five years about 3,000 articles were published in journals indexed by “Web of Science”. The expert has listed a number of requirements to use the capabilities of the database and said that the new modules are being prepared.

In the end, discussed the level of cooperation of scientific centers of the countries of the region with the organization, integration of journals into international scientific bases, etc. and exchange of views on issues.
