Key scientific achievements:

1. The involvement of cAMP and cGMP systems in plant photosignal transduction. It was shown that both cyclic Nucleotide related enzymes ─ cyclases and phosphodiesterases strongly react the effect of moniochromatic red (660 nm) and far-red (730 nm) light.

2. Theo study G-protein linked signal transduction in animal organism in particular in phototransduction in vertebrate visual cascade. The role of GPR proteins as nucleotide exchange factors or as GDP dissociation inhibitors for Ga have been studied. We investigated the modulation of the GDP/GTP exchange of Gia1, Goa, and Gsa by proteins containing GPR motifs to elucidate the mechanisms of GPR protein function.

3. The study visual cascade GPCR Rhodopsin residues responsible for G-protein transducin activation. It was found that three cytoplasmic loops in the G protein-coupled receptor rhodopsin, C2, C3, and C4 (H8), have been implicated as key sites for binding and activation of the visual G protein transducin.

4. Transcriptional regulation of plant differentiation upon development. The role of MADS domain transcription factor JOINTLESS in the abscission zone formation in tomato flowers and fruit were studied.

5. Transcriptional regulation of plant responces to environmental abiotic stresses. The WRKY transcription factors superfamily members involvement in plant responses to abiotic stresses, such as elevated salt and water deficit were studied. It was shown that the tomato plant WRKY33 transcription factor is a major factor that regulates the tomato plant tolerance to abiotic factor like water deficit and high salinity.

6. Investigation of the structural and functional domains of EGFR and HER2 receptors, representatives of the ErbB subfamily, which play a critical role in the formation of malignant carcinoma-type tumors (lung and breast), and the study of the fatal properties caused by the changes or mutations in these receptors.
