Basic scientific achievements | Allahverdiev S.I. has an award from the Society of Plant Biology of the Republic of South Korea for his contribution to the development and promotion of the international scientific journal Journal of Plant Biology (2013). In 2016 I have been recognized by Thomson Reuters-WoS (Clarivate Analytics) the most Highly Cited Russian researcher worldwide in Biology. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, I have been recognized by Thomson Reuters –WoS (Clarivate Analytics) the Highly Cited world-class researchers selected for their exceptional research performance, and entered the list of the most highly cited scientists of the world (1% of the total number of researchers). Has been studied primary mechanisms underlying the functioning of the electron transport chain of photosystem II, i.e. kinetics and energetics of electron transfer in photosystem II, involving pheophytin (intermediate electron acceptor), that included in all textbooks on the field of physico-chemical biology worldwide. Also, has been studied the molecular mechanisms of adaptation of the photosynthetic apparatus of plants to adverse environmental conditions using the methods of physical and chemical biology, including DNA microarrays. Currently, he is working and actively developing a new direction in the field of nanobiotechnology research - a system of artificial photosynthesis using protein structures to produce molecular hydrogen as an alternative energy source. |
