The next meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held on April 30.
The event was attended by the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, members of the Presidium, the head of the Presidium of ANAS and relevant persons.
Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev opened the meeting and informed the participants about the agenda of the meeting.
A number of personnel issues were first considered at the event. By the relevant decisions of the Presidium, Academician Isa Habibbayli was appointed Director General of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, Academician Naila Velikhanli National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Academician Rafael Huseynov National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, Academician Teymur Karimli Institute of Manuscripts named after Mahammad Fuzuli, Professor Mammad Aliyev Director General of the Central Scientific Library were made. In addition, a decision was made to approve the heads of the structural units of the Presidium of ANAS.
The relevant decision was made at the meeting on the 80th anniversary of the corresponding member of ANAS Magsud Gurbanov.
The next issue discussed was the activities of the problem councils of the Coordination Council for Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and regulations on the activities of problem councils were adopted.
The event also discussed the organization of regular expeditions in the Caspian Sea with the joint participation of employees of ANAS and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as the expansion of research on renewable energy sources at the Academy.
In conclusion, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev said it was important for ANAS to make a practical contribution to the post-pandemic processes in our country with priority research.
The first vice-president of ANAS, academician Dilgam Taghiyev, vice-presidents - academician Isa Habibbayli, academician Ibrahim Guliyev, academician Irada Huseynova, academician Rasim Alguliyev, academician-secretary, academician Adil Garibov, academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva spoke on the mentioned issues. and voiced their suggestions.
