On September 8, 2021, Aziz Sanjar, a prominent Turkish scientist in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology, turned 75 years old. Aziz Sanjar, the pride of the entire Turkic world, was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry along with Paul Modric of the United States and Thomas Lindal of Sweden.

During his visit to Azerbaijan in 2017, Aziz Sanjar said: "I want to see the unity of the Turkic world. This has been my dream since childhood." Aziz Sanjar closely followed the 44-day Patriotic War of Azerbaijan and repeatedly made statements in support of Azerbaijan. He transferred a large sum of money to a bank account for the future education of baby Khadija, who lost both parents as a result of the Armenian rocket attack on Ganja.

On September 10, 2021, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order for awarding Aziz Sanjar with the "Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan" for his services to the development of international humanitarian relations of our country.

The vice-president of ANAS academician Irada Huseynova sent a congratulatory letter on the occasion of the glorious 75th anniversary of Professor Aziz Sanjar, the honored scientist of the Turkic world. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the world-famous scientist for cooperation with Azerbaijan in the most modern areas of science, the training of national personnel, for supporting young Azerbaijani researcher Khagani Eynullazade, who is currently studying for a doctorate in the United States, and for his support in the fair struggle of our people in the most crucial issues, including the 44-day Patriotic War.

Academician Irada Huseynova noted that the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS has always highly appreciated cooperation with Professor Aziz Sanjar. She expressed hope for further support by Aziz Sanjar in the training of national scientists in modern sciences such as molecular biology and biochemistry.

At the end of her letter, academician Irada Huseynova noted that scientific events and conferences are planned to be held in the recently liberated and rapidly restored lands of Karabakh, Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, and she expressed her intention to invite a prominent Turkish scientist to these events.

In his sincere reply, Professor Aziz Sanjar said he was pleased with the congratulations and attention paid to him and was very proud of it. He said Azerbaijan was of great importance to him and he did not separate Anatolia from Azerbaijan and himself from Azerbaijanis. He expressed great confidence in the future of Azerbaijani science, noting that he was ready for comprehensive cooperation in conducting joint research and training.
