Academician Irada Huseynova, vice-president of ANAS, director general of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, was on a scientific mission to the Federal Republic of Germany on June 17-19, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to sign a memorandum of understanding with Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences in Germany, conduct discussions for submitting a joint project to the grant competition for Eastern Partnership countries (BMBF) announced by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, and get acquainted with the experience of wheat breeding companies.
On the first day of Academician Irada Huseynova's visit, the Vice-President of the Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences, Professor Bernd Lehmann, as well as the heads of the University's Foreign Relations and Scientific Cooperation Departments, the Head of the Department of Plant Breeding of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture, Professor Ali Naz, and the staff of the faculty participated in the official meeting. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between vice-president of Osnabruck University, professor Bernd Lehmann and academician Irada Huseynova.
At the same time, cooperation relations were discussed with Dr. Ahmed Eishazly, the head of the delegation from Heliopolis University of Egypt, who participated in the meeting.
On the second day of the trip, Azerbaijani scientists visited the "Agro-Technicums" department of the university. Here, the employees of the department gave detailed information to the guests about new generation agricultural techniques and digital phenotyping devices.
