At the next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, a report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences in 2024 was heard.

The report was presented by the vice-president of ANAS, academician Irada Huseynova, chairman of the Scientific Council of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences. The academician said that in the reporting year, research was conducted in accordance with the decrees and orders of the head of the state, resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers, within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World" and the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the tasks set in the "State program to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and drug addiction" for 2019-2024", "State program for ensuring food security in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2025", "Measurement plan for the prevention of gender selection before the birth of children for 2020-2025", "Development program of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan for 2020 -2025 years», as well as assignments that found their reflection in the resolutions of the General meetings of ANAS and Presidium of ANAS.

Having highly appreciated the report, the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, said that the employees of the division actively worked within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for Green Peace" and COP29, numerous conferences were organized and valuable articles were published. Academician Isa Habibbayli also emphasized the importance of the research conducted by the employees of the Karabakh branch. In conclusion, a resolution of the Presidium of ANAS was adopted, which reflected the relevant instructions.
