A commemoration event was held at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The academician's memory was commemorated with a minute of silence. The Vice-President of ANAS, Director General of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Academician Irada Huseynova, spoke about the life path, scientific work, and contributions of Academician Jalal Aliyev to Azerbaijani and global science. She emphasized that his scientific findings on photosynthesis have been successfully applied in many countries worldwide. Academician stated that thanks to Jalal Aliyev's initiative, new directions in biology—such as molecular biology, molecular genetics, gene and cell biotechnology, mathematical biology, computer biology, and bioinformatics—have developed in our country. She also noted that the scientist's students are now working at leading universities worldwide. Under his leadership, a strong personnel base for these sciences was formed. It was precisely as a result of his initiative that, for the first time in our republic, it became possible to solve many theoretical and practical problems in biology and agriculture using mathematical methods, information, and computer technologies. The scientist made unparalleled contributions to the recognition and promotion of Azerbaijani science worldwide, as well as establishing ties with international scientific organizations.

Then, the Chairperson of the Modern Development and Family Public Union, Zərifə Quliyeva, the scientist's friend Rizvan Vahabov, and Corresponding Member of ANAS, İbrahim Əzizov, emphasized that Academician Jalal Aliyev led a life full of struggles, which could serve as an example for everyone. They also noted that he stood at the pinnacle of humanity, not only as a scientist but also as a person and a friend. The speakers spoke about the many years of rich and productive activity of Academician Jalal Aliyev in the development of Azerbaijani science, the fact that the scientist's work is highly appreciated by our people and state, and emphasized that the dear memory of the great scientist who made valuable contributions to science will always live in our hearts.
