“The solution to existing problems in areas such as green energy, food security, bio- and ecological safety, and a healthy environment is possible not only through technology and capital, but also through knowledge and scientific integration,” said Academician Irada Huseynova, Vice-President of ANAS and Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, at the international conference titled “Challenges in Energy, Food, Environment, and Climate Security” held in Baku on October 15. She emphasized that the main goal of the conference is to develop strategic plans for scientific partnership, determine future research directions, share innovative solutions contributing to the transition to green energy and a clean environment, and promote new scientific ideas ensuring the resilience of society and the economy. “The ideas voiced and results presented here will foster international cooperation, joint projects, and the establishment of regional innovation centers. Science is not only a technological force but also a moral value. Finding solutions for biological, energy, food, and climate security is the highest scientific mission serving humanity,” she added. Huseynova noted that one of the significant parts of the conference program is the next session of “Jalal Aliyev Readings”, dedicated to the memory of the prominent scientist and public figure, academician Jalal Aliyev. She underlined that this session will further enhance the scientific and moral value of the international event. Highlighting that the conference is also dedicated to the 80th anniversary of ANAS, an important milestone in Azerbaijan’s scientific history, she said that celebrating this jubilee at a high level once again confirms ANAS’s invaluable role in the organization, management, and development of science, as well as in shaping the nation’s intellectual potential. The academician noted that the conference, attended by more than 140 presenters from 14 countries, has become an important platform for global scientific collaboration: “If we want to move confidently toward a green future, it is essential to unite scientists, engineers, agricultural, and biomedical experts working in a multidisciplinary and team-oriented environment on a single scientific platform.” She also pointed out that research conducted in various countries demonstrates the growing importance of artificial intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, and nanotechnologies in ensuring energy, food, and climate stability. Speaking about recent achievements in Azerbaijan in bioeconomy, green technologies, and biotechnological research supported by the state, she emphasized that the “green zone” model established in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur has attracted international interest as a unique approach to ensuring energy and environmental security. Currently, new AI-based methodological approaches are being developed in agri-biotechnology, soil and water resource management, and climate modeling across the country. In conclusion, academician Irada Huseynova expressed confidence that the conference would become an important stage for scientific exchange, new partnerships, and sustainable development, wishing all participants productive discussions and new scientific achievements.
