The presentation of the book “COP29: Global and National Challenges, Tasks of Science” was held at the main building of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) on October 27, 2025. The project leader and author of the foreword is ANAS President, academician Isa Habibbeyli, the scientific editor is ANAS Vice-President, academician Irada Huseynova, and the compiler is Afig Mammadov, PhD in Agrarian Sciences. The event was attended by ANAS leadership, government officials, climate representatives, scientists, experts, and media representatives. Isa Habibbeyli highlighted the book’s scientific and political significance and emphasized Azerbaijan’s successful hosting of COP29. He noted that COP29 enhanced Azerbaijan’s global leadership in climate action and showcased its organizational capabilities. Mukhtar Babayev, Presidential Representative on Climate Issues, emphasized the importance of science in addressing global climate challenges. Academician Irada Huseynova stated that the book systematically presents COP29-related activities, scientific analyses, and national and global insights. She highlighted the transition from “science for knowledge” to “science for a sustainable future” and the importance of youth engagement in climate action. Other speakers confirmed that the book serves as a valuable resource for scientists, students, and young researchers. The event concluded with a visit to ANAS’s Rare Trees Park, reflecting the Academy’s commitment to environmental awareness.
