On February 2, an event dedicated to Youth Day was organized at the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Acting Director of the Institute, Academician Irada Huseynova, congratulated the young people on the occasion of the holiday and emphasized the special significance of this day in the public life of the country. She spoke about the history of Youth Day, the active role of Azerbaijani youth in various spheres of society, as well as the attention and care provided by the state to young people.
The Academician noted that the youth policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is being successfully continued today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. It was highlighted that young people actively participate in the socio-political, economic, and cultural life of the country, and consistent measures are being implemented to address their social issues and protect their rights, while relevant state programs are being successfully carried out.
She also stressed that broader educational opportunities have been created for young people in the modern era. A number of young specialists of the Institute are pursuing doctoral studies at prestigious universities and research centers abroad, and confidence was expressed that they will make significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science as highly qualified professionals in the future.
At the end of the event, the results of a competition held among the Institute’s young scientists and researchers were announced, and those distinguished by their active participation in the scientific and public life of the Institute were awarded.
According to the “Young Researcher of the Year” nomination, Agil Ahmadli won first place, Fudan Gadratova and Aysel Aliyeva took second place, Sevda Mahmudova and Mehriban Shabanova ranked third, and Nihal Mustafayeva received an incentive award.
