February 11 is marked worldwide as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The day was established by the United Nations in 2015 with the aim of promoting the participation of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This date highlights the importance of equal representation of women in science, calls for the elimination of gender stereotypes, and encourages girls’ interest in scientific fields. In Azerbaijan, women scientists also play an important role in science and education, conducting successful research in various areas. In recent years, the growing interest of girls in higher education, particularly in technical specialties, has been encouraging. Projects and initiatives implemented in this direction contribute to further strengthening gender equality in science in the future. Science is for everyone, and the active participation of girls will further accelerate progress and development in the years to come.
