On May 8, the Presidium of ANAS hosted a scientific session on "Heydar Aliyev: time and modernity" devoted to the 96th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Academician Akif Alizadeh, president of ANAS, said that a number of events were held each year in various institutions of the republic, both in the country and in the ANAS, on the eve of national leader Heydar Aliyev's birthday. Great Leader devoted his life to the development, prosperity and well-being of his people, he said.

Academician Akif Alizadeh spoke about the great leader's role in the scientific, political, economic and cultural development of the great leader, including the activity of the great leader in the current activities of ANAS. According to the scientist, thanks to the wise policy and historical vision of the world-renowned politician Heydar Aliyev, the idea of national statehood, as well as the establishment of the modern Azerbaijani state and the desire of our people have been achieved.

Academician A.Alizade underlined that the ideas of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, are the guarantee of the future development of Azerbaijan.

Then Vice President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli made a report entitled "Azerbaijani Heydar Aliyev Studies: Achievements and Tasks". The scientist said that Heydar Aliyev, the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people, has gained a reputation as a world-class politician, savior and powerful leader of the people he belongs to. Heydar Aliyev was a prominent statesman who was assessed at the level of world leaders. He noted that the name of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in scientific and political literature was evaluated with similarity and distinctive features along with the most prominent historical figures of the world: George Washington, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Charles de Gaulle, Vincent Cerchill and Mao Czedun.

I.Habibbeyli Heydar Aliyev also made a number of proposals on the development of science. He noted that scientific publications such as "Heydar Aliyev's encyclopedia", "Heydar Aliyev's scientific biography", "Heydar Aliyev and independent Azerbaijan" should be published, and most importantly, the new generation of  Heydar Aliyev studies must be grown up.

Then the chairman of the Milli Mejlis Committee for Regional Development Arif Rahimzadeh made a report on "The development of regions in Azerbaijan: from Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev". He said that as a result of the consistent and purposeful policy pursued by the nationwide leader, the processes of decline in all spheres, especially in the economy, industry and production, have been prevented, and the new stage of economic development has been laid in Azerbaijan. It is precisely the result of the far-sighted policy of the national leader that Azerbaijan has always maintained its worthy position among the countries of the world. At present, these wise politics and proper strategy are successfully pursued and reinforced by President Ilham Aliyev.

A.Rahimzadeh also spoke about the personal qualities of the great leader. He noted that our people believed in the will, courage and intelligence of the Heydar Aliyev phenomenon at all times. He said that Heydar Aliyev had also a high culture and communication skills.

MP Sevinj Fataliyeva also spoke on "Azerbaijan in international relations: from Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev", MP Sahibe Gafarova on "Heydar Aliyev and gender policy" and talked about successful politics and achievements of national leader in relevant fields.
