This year marks the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The name of Heydar Aliyev constitutes an entire system in the history of Azerbaijan associated with statehood, stability, foresight, determination, devotion to national interests, and responsibility. He was one of the rare leaders capable of transforming the will of the people into a philosophy of statehood during complicated historical periods. The governance school established by the National Leader vividly demonstrated how an independent state should be built, protected, and developed. As a result of Heydar Aliyev’s far-sighted policy, a governance tradition based on national interests was formed. Army building, economic reforms, the principles of a law-governed state, international prestige, and the irreversibility of state independence were ensured.
