“The Dictionary of Ecological Terms of Turkic Languages”, presented today, is a highly significant event that makes an important contribution to the intellectual unity of the Turkic states. The dictionary is a vivid expression of our shared memory, our common understanding of nature, and our unified scientific thinking. These remarks were made by Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Irada Huseynova. According to the academician, issues such as global climate change, biodiversity loss, desertification processes, efficient use of water resources, and food security now require the unity, solidarity, and common scientific approaches of different states. The compiled dictionary of ecological terminology demonstrates, on the one hand, that the Turkic states possess a rich natural heritage and, on the other hand, that they have great scientific potential.
