On 6 February 2020, the first meeting of the Dissertation Council created under the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies was held. Chairman of the council academician Irada Huseynova said that Dissertation Council No ED 1.25  was established under the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies by the order dated 28 December 2020 of Chairman of the Higher Certification Commission, Professor Famil Mustafayev. The dissertation council envisages the defense of a Ph.D. and a doctorate of sciences dissertations on specialties 2406.02 - "Biochemistry", 2411.02 - "Plant Physiology", 2415.01 - "Molecular Biology". She noted that this Dissertation Council consists of 18 people, 12 of them are reputable scientists working in the Institute and others in various scientific organizations. Chairman of the Dissertation Council is academician Irada Huseynova, deputy chairman is a correspondent member of ANAS Ilham Shahmuradov, a scientific secretary is Ph.D., associate professor Ulduza Gurbanova. At the same time, the Dissertation Council has established a Seminar Council for the above-mentioned specialties, comprising a total of 21 specialists with 7 members in each specialty.
