On February 11, Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after acad. Y.H. Mammadaliyev organized an event dedicated to February 11 - International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The event brought together ANAS vice presiden academician Irada Huseynova, director of IPP academician Vagif Abbasov, chairman of Women's Council of ANAS Professor Rena Mirzazadeh, as well as directors of several scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy and chairmen of Women's Councils.

Opening the meeting, academician Vagif Abbasov drew attention to the date marked by the UN resolution on 22 December 2015 as a remarkable day.

Later, the chairwoman of the Women's Council of the IPP, Professor Leylufar Aliyeva spoke about the scientific activities and achievements of women working at the enterprise. In addition, Mahruh Najafli, a member of ANAS Women’s Council, Ph.D. in Philosophy delivered a lecture on topic “Gender Scenery of Science in Azerbaijan".

Academicians Irada Huseynova, Naila Valikhanli and Professor Elmira Suleymanova also told about the role of women in science and in the public life of ANAS.
