Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of ANAS held an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the genocide of Azerbaijanis on March 31. The event began with a minute of silence on the memories of the victims of the tragedy. Director of the Institute, acad. Irada Huseynova pointed out that large-scale bloody massacres were a manifestation of Armenians' two-century agressive policy against Azerbaijani Turks. Tens of thousands of civilians were killed precisely due to ethnic and religious affiliation in the genocide committed on March 30 - April 3, 1918 in Baku as well as in Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Hajigabul, Salyan, Zangezur, Garabagh, Nakhchivan and other regions. Settlements, cultural monuments, mosques and cemeteries were demolished and destroyed in Baku, as well as in other cities and districts belonging to the Baku province. The participants of the event emphasized the fact that our people will never forget this history.
