Weak light changes brain structure-warning from scientists Jun 11, 2020 | 08:49 / Interesting information

Neurobiologists of Michigan University in the US have studied Nil wild mice that move during the day and sleep at night like humans. So, they exposed some of the mice to weak light for a month, and others to bright light. Approximately 30 percent of energy loss was recorded in the hippocampus section of the brains of mice exposed to low light due to learning and memory. In addition, the animals were found to have difficulty performing their spatial tasks. Though mice exposed to bright light, on the other hand, made progress in performing their spatial task. The mice exposed to the weak light were under the influence of bright light for 4 weeks. As a result, their brain capacity has completely improved. Scientists say that low light causes a decrease in peptides that help the sustainability of neurons and healthy connections in the hippocampus.
